Method
For the Syrup: Place all the ingredients inside a pot, bring to a gentle boil, agitating until the sugar dissolves. Next, turn off the heat allowing it to cool completely. Decant into a sealable bottle, seal keeping it in the refrigerator, it will last for about a month.
Preparing the Premix: Combine the specified liquid ingredients in a sizeable container, leave to sit for an hour, then filter it best through cheesecloth, to ensure it's perfectly clear.
When ready to serve: Pour 85ml from the premix to a stirring glass containing ice, and stir carefully for one minute to chill. Strain to a chilled martini glass or similar, decorate with the cranberries adding the final touch with a light spray with the mandarin essence over the top.
